Mind bender number 4

This mind bender marks the triumphant return to blogging. This is my fault, I got busy and stopped getting round to putting up new ideas. I'm looking forward to seeing how you go about answering this one...

If you're winning should you still cheat?

Think about what's implied here.

There are merits up for grabs for any posts good enough to make it on the blog site.

Mind bender number 3

Imagine that all of humanity is being transported to a brand new planet. Earth is being left behind and a whole new way of life is being formed in a new location.
What qualities of humanity that exist now would you want to see continue in this new planet and why?

Remember, I need actual names attached to the post, from now on no one named anonymous will have thier ideas posted.
Please keep your language to formal English. No text language or slang thank you.

Mind bender number 2

Do you think it is better to be healthy, wealthy or wise?
Why do you think this?

Slight change of plan...

I have changed the blog slightly. I realised that I had over complicated it and was was trying to run it more like an interactive website than a blog. So I've simplified it.

Now all the mind benders will be on this, the home page of sorts. The forum page remains, so you can still ask questions or seek help if you need it; but now the blog is basically just a vehicle for mind benders and the discussions surrounding them.

This should make posting significantly easier for you, and less mucking around with pages for me.The only unfortunate thing is that due to this change in direction, I had to delete the mind benders page and all the excellent posts we had on it. I'm sorry to those people who posted, but look at it this way - at least now you know what you are doing and the new method should be even easier.

It's all about writing for pleasure... and cos I'm making you.

A big part of getting better at English is practice. While we could conjugate verbs until the cows come home I thought it might be a little more interesting, and easier on all of us if we blogged instead. How this will work is basically I will post a new topic every fortnight. In this fortnight I want you to log in and write at least 50 words, either as an original post of your own, or a comment on what someone else has said.

While I want this to be relatively free and engaging; remember where you are. All comments must be appropriate for both school and the part of the world we live in. I want this to be fun for everyone and while I understand that sometimes people's opinions differ (which is a good thing) I don't want anything disrespectful or intentionally insulting written. To help with this I have invited all my students' parents to join the blog and so they too will be able to see what you are writing. I suppose what I am saying is that if you wouldn't want your mother to know what you have said, this blog is not the place to say it.

I will check (I get an email every time someone posts) to see if you are contributing, and no, it's not optional. It is a compulsory part of the course I am running. That being said, it doesn't mean it has to be unpleasant.

Well done for checking the blog out and I look forward to reading your thoughts on the first topic.
